Tania Cannarsa, based in New York, is one of the most sought-after salsa and mambo dancers in the world, renowned for her fusion of classical dance technique and Afro Cuban body movement.
Born in Sri Lanka and raised in Italy, Tania began her dance journey at the age of 10, studying classical ballet before expanding into jazz and lyrical dance. She gained early experience in Latin dance as a dancer on âLatin Black, and further honed her salsa skills with Marco Berettaâs âFlamboyant Dancers.â
She began her professional career as a dance instructor alongside Jonathan Somoza before moving to New York and becoming the principal dancer with Adolfo Indacocheaâs Latin Soul Dancers.
Today Tania performs and teaches classes at congresses around the world, and runs her global dance team âBlack Soul Sistersâ. She is also one of the lead instructors at Empire Mambo in NYC.
